This Spring Chiller convention took place on the weekend of April 23-25. Another great event put on by Kevin and Sue Clement. A huge crowd, and alot of fine guests. Some of the celebrities in attendance were Connie Stevens, Lana Wood, Adam West, Frank Gorshin, and Julie Newmar to name a few. What made this April Chiller so special was the I.A.cast reunions that took place. At this April Chiller I sat and assisted Mark Goddard which is always fun. Mark was very busy all weekend long. Lots of photo taking along with signing many autographs. Many LIS fans stopped by with first season dvd sets to get autographed and to chat with Mark. The response to the first season dvd sets has been great and has left LIS fans asking for season two. Also lots of talk about the proposed W.B. LIS project. I must say that no matter how many times Mark attends Chiller, he is always a favorite at the show.
Cast members from Land Of The Giants, Lost In Space, and Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea were all on hand. From LIS Mark Goddard and Marta Kristen attended. The whole Voyage crew was together for the first time since the show ended. A very memorable event for sure and 40 years of Voyage was celebrated. On Saturday two Q+A sessions took place. The cast of Land Of The Giants got together to reminisce about their days on LOTG and what they are currently doing. Gary Conway, Don Marshall, Deanna Lund, Heather Young, Don Matheson. Everyone was in good spirits and joked around as they talked about what it was like filming LOTG.
The other Q+A session that took place consisted of the Voyage Cast. David Hedison, Del Monroe Allan Hunt, and Terry Becker were all on hand.
The Voyage crew took many questions from the standing room only fans in attendance. At the end of the Q+A me and Linda Delaney presented the Voyage cast with plaques commemorating Forty years of Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea. It was a real touching thing to see how the fans and cast reacted to the plaque presentation. Something I will never forget.
I would like to personally thank Linda Delaney for all of her hard work in helping with this Voyage Chiller reunion. And for making those beautiful Voyage plaques for the guys. Also thanks to Linda for the beautiful Voyage shirt.
It was great seeing old friends again as is the case at all the Chiller conventions. I must thank a few people for making this Chiller once again extra special for me. Simon Hancock for helping me with what needed to be done and being there all weekend long for all of us. Mark Goddard for being Mark and Chiller's favorite son. Of course the cast of LOTG, and Voyage for being great friends to me and for being so great to the fans. And last but not least my dear friend Kevin Clement who puts on one hell of a convention twice a year. Of all the promoters I have known through the years no convention promoter has supported Irwin's tv shows like Kevin by having cast members at his convention like Kevin has.
Can't thank Kevin Clement enough for letting me organize the I.A. reunion and for supporting, and keeping the name of Irwin Allen alive by having cast members attend his conventions.
The next Chiller convention takes place the weekend of October 29-31. If you never have attended a Chiller convention make it a point to attend. You will be glad you did!
Below are a few samples of photos taken at the Chiller convention. I will be adding more and more of them to the page from time to time. Between Simon Hancock, and Amanda Smith, we have a few hundred photos to sort through. Thanks to them both for their picture taking.
