LIS News- Chiller Theatre April 2000

By: Ray Dutczak

This spring Chiller took place April 14-16 at the Meadowlands Sheraton in Secaucus, NJ The guest list was very impressive ranging from Linda Blair of "The Exorcist" to Richard Keil who played "Jaws" in a few of the James Bonds movies. The guest list went on and on.

From LIS Alumni this time around we had the pleasure of having Bill Mumy. This was his first Chiller experience. Angela Cartwright, and Chiller's favorite son, Mark Goddard were also there. This time out I would have the pleasure of sitting with Bill Mumy, who I've been trying to get to come Chiller for some quite some time. But, due to previous schedule conflicts, it hadn't worked out. This time it did.

My good friend Kevin Clement, the Chiller Promoter and the Sheraton Hotel staff set-up this large tent outside where most of the guests were signing. This tent is huge, and for good reason.

Bill Mumy had lines that looped through the tent and outside to the parking lot. People waited outside patiently for Bill. Bill, Angela, and Marked signed autographs and smiled for photos all weekend long.

I had a blast sitting with Bill as we discussed some LIS episodes and some fun times he had filming them. Angela was as sweet as ever answering fan's questions and signing autographs. Mark Goddard was also very busy, and no matter how many times he comes to Chiller, the fans still love him.

On Saturday, there was a Q&A that Bill, Angela, and Mark would give the fans a chance to ask some questions. The Q&A was standing room only. Questions ranged from B5, LIS, Twilight Zone, The Sound of Music, and Overnight Sensation, an independent film that marked filmed last September.

At the Q&A I presented Mark Goddard with a plaque of appreciation from LIS Memories.

So, I have to say that the April Chiller was a great success and it was well managed. LIS Memories, Bill Mumy, Angela Cartwright, and Mark Goddard would like to thank Kevin and Sue Clement for all their hospitality in having the four of us as their guest.

Kevin and Sue Clement put on one of the best conventions around. They have a variety of guests at their Spring and Fall shows and it is always a pleasure to attend. If you have never been to a Chiller convention, make it a point to attend. You won't be sorry. You can reach the site at http://www.chillertheatre.com

I have few LIS cast surprises for the October Chiller, so keep checking my convention listings for an update.
