Irwin Allen News - March 2002
Well Irwin Allen fans, it finally has been released - Polar Lights has
reissued the Aurora Seaview kit. Priced at $16 dollars, this is a
beauty! Polar Lights also has this kit available in white plastic, which is
harder to find.
Anyone pick up the latest issue of Modelers Resource? In it is a beautiful
article entitled "Building Irwin Allen's Spindrift" written by Dave Metzner.
Article has some beautiful photos that will give you some pointers on how to
build one. Polar Lights Spindrift is set for release this summer.
Also in the same magazine is an article from Skyhook Models. In the article
Skyhook gives you a look at an prototype of a Seaview conversion kit for the
Polar Lights Seaview. Kit comes with a four window front end. A minature
flying sub, and an open flying sub bay. You can get more info by going to
their website at www.skyhookmodels.com.
Well, the Time Tunnel movie is a go and none of the original living cast members will be in it. Seems the producers have opted not to use any original Time Tunnel cast members and are going after new faces. This is disappointing to us fans who love the classic series so much. I believe filming has already started in Canada.
On the convention front some Irwin Allen cast members will be at the Chiller Theatre show the weekend of April 21st. Mark Goddard from LIS, David Hedison from Voyage, James Darren from Time Tunnel, and Don Marshall, Don Matheson, and Deanna Lund from Land of the Giants will be on hand. A Chiller first having one cast member from each of Irwin's shows. Hope to see some of you there!
