LIS News- Motot City Comic Con, November 2000
By: Ray Dutczak
On the weekend of October 21 & 22, I traveled to Novi Michigan to attend to
Motor City Comic Con which is held BI-annually in October and then in May. At
this October convention, Bob May was in attendance.
Bob and his lovely wife Judy traveled to Novi to greet all of his fans. I sat
and helped Bob and Judy, while he signed many autographs and took a ton of
photos.
On Saturday, Bob had a Q&A to which he answered many questions pertaining to
LIS. The questions ranged from what was his favorite episode, to how did Bob
make certain aspects of the Robot function.
Bob told many stories and recalled many moments on the LIS set. He praised
all of his fellow cast members, and stated how grateful he was to have worked
with such a fine cast.
On Sunday, there was a charity auction held to which Bob graciously donated
and autographed 2 of his videotapes. One being "Robot Memories", which Bob
made in 1990. The other tape was "Robot Memories Act II", which is the latest
release from Bob. They both sold pretty well, and moneys made were donated to
charity.
On Sunday, the fans came out to see Bob, and this day was as equally busy as
Saturday. Usually the Sunday crowd is half the size of Saturday's, but not
this time.
Novi was a great success, and Bob May wishes to thank all of his fans who
came out to see him and who made his first trip to the Motor City Comic Con,
a great success.
