LIS News- March 2000

By: Ray Dutczak

First off, I'd like to thank all that have visited LIS Memories and have made it a great success. Please check back often as I have a lot planned for the web site.

Product News: LIS Forever will be available on DVD April 4. This is a great LIS special directed and produced by my good friend, Kevin Burns. If you remember, this special aired in 1998, on the Fox network. It was not heavily advertised.

Jonathan Harris and Bill Mumy go back into character at the end of this special. Jonathan told me it was very touching reliving Dr. Smith after 35 years.

I took my family to LA in February. On our trip we had lunch with Jonathan, and Marta Kristen was kind enough to have my family over for dinner as well. My thanks go out to the both of them for their hospitality.

Jonathan is doing great, and he sends his best to all of his friends around the world. Check my interview section as that Jonathan just completed an interview exclusively for LIS Memories.

Marta just filmed an Advil commercial that is being aired now. This advertisement shows Marta gardening. It is nice to see Marta on the TV screen again.

Bill Mumy and Angela Cartwright are filming a movie together titled Overload. The movie is a psychological drama in a sci-fi setting. It's nice to see the two of them working together, and I feel that this movie is sure to be a winner.

Bill and Angela will be signing at the Chiller Theatre convention April 14-16. This will be Bill's first "Chiller" experience, and Angela' s second. I urge all of you to attend.

My friend, Kevin Clement, puts on one hell of a show. He is always receptive to the LIS cast. You can check out the Chiller Theatre web site for more details. In addition, Bill Mumy has his fan club up and running again. Glenda Kountz, his fan club president, heads it. You can get more information for his fan club by looking at my site's for sale section.

Mark Goddard is doing fine teaching, and appearing at many conventions around the country. Mark also has a new fan club that is up and running, headed by the fan club president and my good friend Tammy Wall. This is the one and only Mark Goddard fan club sanctioned by Mark. You can join his fan club by referring to my site's for sale section. I highly recommend that you join this fan club.

June Lockhart, who I dubbed the convention king, is always busy. She has been visiting Nassau, and helping them with various projects, I have a great book in my site's for sale section titled "LIS Forever", in which June wrote the forward. You can buy this great autographed collectible directly from June, so don't miss out.

Bob May will be making his return to Fright Vision Convention in Akron, Ohio from Mar 31 - Apr 2. Carl Thompson puts on this convention, and it is a good.

I had a blast doing this convention last year with Mark and Bob. I helped Bob judge the best fan built Robot contest, and it was a lot of fun. There will be about 10 fan built robots on hand this year, so be sure to take a look. Be sure to stop by and see Bob, for he has many stories to tell and he's a lot of fun to be around. If there is anything that you wanted to know about the robot, Bob can answer your questions. My good friend Tammy Wall has a great email list on the net called LIS Forever. Here we are committed to talking about everything dealing with LIS. It is a lot of fun, and it's the best on the net. If you need a LIS fix, go to my Links page, and you will see it at the top of the page. I highly recommend that you subscribe to it.

Please check the convention listings as to where the cast will be appearing. Most appearances will be at a location near you. So, if you want to meet the cast now is your chance.
