November 2001

Hi fellow LIS fans! . It has been a while since I sat down to write the LIS
Memories news so here goes...
Well
a lot has happened from August till now LIS-wise. First in August I was invited
fly to LA and attend the Guy
Williams Hollywood Walk Of Fame dedication. The whole
LIS cast was present, with the exception of Mark Goddard who stayed back East
due to a prior engagement, and June Lockhart, who was recovering from shoulder
injury. This was a wonderful event and a long time coming
and I was happy to be a part of it. Of course, we have
pictures!
At this event it was so nice seeing Dick Tufeld. Dick is recovering
from an illness and was as happy as could be. Also Francine York was on hand
which I met her for the first time. She took me Bob and Judy May out for a
lovely dinner Saturday night that week. She told some wonderful stories of
her time working with Irwin Allen which was grand! Also while in LA I managed
to have lunch with Jonathan Harris. We had a great time meeting at one of our
favorite places in the Valley for some food and fun. Marta Kristen invited me
Bob and Judy May over her house for dinner to which we were happy to attend.
Kevin her husband cooked a killer shish kabob which was fantastic! Kevin truly
is a wonderful cook.
While in LA, Bob and Judy May took me to the beautiful Getty Museum. The place was huge and we spent a
wonderful day walking around looking at these beautiful antiques. Bob and
Judy May sure did keep me occupied that week in LA and I can't thank them
enough.
In October I traveled to Plano convention for a Batcon Convention. I took Bob
May with me who I sponsored and we had a great time. Dave has posted some
pics and my review in our past convention section.
Another GREAT convention took place at the Chiller show in NJ Halloween
weekend. The whole LIS cast appeared to great fans which was terrific. You
can see a whole review of the event with photos at our convention section.
Many of you probably have been reading about a possible LIS reunion movie? I
got a call from Mark Goddard over a month ago and he stated to me that NBC
had called him up about a possible LIS reunion movie. No script has been
written but NBC is interested in doing some type of project. When I posted
this info to my LIS Memories internet list, immediately posts to other lists
began about the topic. Of course it originated from mine as Mark gave me
permission to post it. Ah, the power of the internet!
LIS on DVD? The buzz is that Kevin Burns is working on bringing the LIS
Classic series to DVD. Bill Mumy will be helping with the project. The Star
Trek DVD's are wonderful which I have been collecting and to have LIS on DVD would be equally so. Lets hope this gets done as many of us LIS fans have
waited for this a long time!
Last weekend November 18 I traveled down to Philly for the Slanted Fedora con
where I assisted Mark Goddard. It was wonderful and you can read a review and
see some photos from the convention in our convention section as always.
June Lockhart will be on the Hollywood Squares December 6 so be on the
lookout for that.
Also, an LIS Memories LIS fan club is in the works headed by me and Dave
Goudsward. The fan club will concentrate on the LIS cast members and LIS in
general so look for that in 2002. I hope many of you will join. Mark Goddard
has wrote an intro for our premier newsletter which is pretty neat.
So that's about it for now. I am writing this newsletter on Thanksgiving day
so I would like to wish each and everyone of you a Happy and Healthy
Thanksgiving! Also thanks to each and everyone of you who have supported the
cast at many conventions this year and have also supported my LIS Memories
website.
