LIS News- July, August, September 2000

By: Ray Dutczak

The big news around here is that I have a new webmaster and his name is Dave Goudsward. Dave has been a friend of mine for awhile, and he heads the official Marta Kristen website. You can take a look at this wonderful website at www.goudsward.com/marta/.

Since Dave took over the site, he has redesigned LIS Memories, giving it many new features, and the new look that it has. I can't Dave enough for all he has done for me and for taking on maintaining LIS Memories. Dave and I have much in store for LIS Memories, so keep checking the site for the latest updates.

The buzz around LIS fandom is that Kevin Burns, is working on a possible LIS project that would reunite the original task. Kevin has been given permission by Sheila Allen to develop and produce LIS projects under an agreement they have together. If anyone would be able to do a great job with this LIS project, it would be Kevin Burns. This project could possibly happen, and I am certain that many LIS fans would like to see it done in movie format, a miniseries, or a movie of the week.

The "Great One"-Jonathan Harris
As we all know there us talk about a LIS movie or TV special. In my last conversation with Jonathan, I asked him if he would reprise the Dr. Smith role. Jonathan explained that he would consider it, if asked, but the script would have to be a good one. Many fans would love to see this, if this project was to come about. We have waited many years for a "true" Lis project that would pay tribute to the classic television series. Let's hope that it gets done, and that we finally get to see justice done to the series.

Mark Goddard
Mark is a grandfather again or the second time. Caleb and his wife gave birth to a baby boy. On behalf of all us here at LIS memories, we want to congratulate Mark, his son Caleb, and Caleb's wife on this blessed event. Mark is starting to work on a bio on his Hollywood career and life in general. This would make an interesting read, and I would be one of the first to obtain a copy.

Recently Mark was on the A&E channel where they did a bio on Adam West, and used some clips of Adam and Mark from the TV show The Detectives, which Mark did in the 60's. Looking back, Mark always enjoyed working on the Detectives, as that was one of the first TV series that he did.

Mark will be in Denver, Colorado in September and back at Chiller Theater in New Jersey, in October. Please check convention listings for details on his convention appearances,

Bill Mumy
Bill Mumy attended Dragoncon this past July, and he was very welcome! He signed a ton of autographs, and was very accommodating to each and every one of his fans.

At Dragoncon, Bill performed on stage solo with acoustic guitar - a 15 song concert to the cheers of his many fans. Bill really enjoys performing on stage, and fans should remember that during some scenes from LIS, Bill was known to belt out some tunes, guitar in hand.

Bill was recently on the E Channel where they had a special on child stars of the past; Bill had a few wonderful interview segments that he participated in.

Bill, Angela Cartwright, and June Lockhart will be in MidOhio Comic Con in Columbus the weekend of November 25, at a comic collectible show. Please refer to my convention dates for details.

Angela Cartwright
Angela has been busy with photography, and she has been doing some gallery work for her Rubber Boots online store. Angela just got through doing a lengthy interview on her career for the magazine Filmfax, which is on newstands right now. In this article, Angela explains her career in depth.

Angela's son, Jessie, recently graduated to High School. Everyone here at LIS Memories would like to congratulate Jessie and wish him good luck in High School.

June Lockhart
I spoke June last week, and we had a lovely conversation on the phone. She mentioned that she just finished a stint on General Hospital, and wrapped up filming a few episodes. She also mentioned how for GH, they had the whole cast do a "Grand" photo session. June told me that it was very elaborate, and it was like no other photo session she has done before. There were plenty of lights, camera, and action. She has also done an interview for Film Facts, in the same issue as Angela Cartwright. Be sure to check it out.

Marta Kristen
Marta took the summer off to do a little traveling and to see a few lovely sights. She visited some family members in Cape Cod, and she had a lovely time. Her granddaughter, Lena, has become quite adept at school and Marta is very thrilled about this.

Guy Williams
The good news is that Guy will finally be given his long overdue honor of a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. The ceremony will take place next summer in Hollywood California. I will keep everyone informed as to what develops regarding this matter.

I have a Guy Williams tribute for everyone to see at LIS Memories. This is a little way to say thanks to Guy for all his fans across the world. I urge you to all check this out.

Bob May
"Robot Memories Act II' has been released, and it is a hit. In this latest installment of Robot Memories, Bob explores the many aspects of the Robot, and even has a few on tape interviews with Sheila Allen, Bob Kinoshita, his classic Robot crew, Bill Myatt, and Johnny Borgese and much more. Bob has made LIS Memories the official East Coast distributor of this videotape. Anyone interested in ordering one can go to my online store, where they are available. Bob has some convention appearances in the month of October. Motor City ComicCon in Novi MI, and Chiller Theater convention in New Jersey.

If you get a chance to attend, please stop by and see Bob. He is great fun to be around and he loves to do these conventions.

Until next time,
