Irwin Allen News - Summer 2002
Well, Well - summer has arrived with a fury. It hit 98º the other day - OUCH! Seems like it is going to be a long, hot summer.
Terry Becker, Alan Hunt, from Voyage and the GREAT Warren Stevens will all be
attending as well - their first Chiller appearances. This October Chiller
should prove to be one of the very best as far as IA guests are concerned ,so
keep checking our convention calender for details or
Chiller's web site.
The NEW Time Tunnel should be released in the fall. I was very disapointed to
learn that none of the original cast was used. I think this is a very bad
move.
So that's about it from my end of the Irwin Allen world. Keep checking the
website for current updates and much more cool stuff.
All my best
On the Irwin Allen front, has anyone bought the Spindrift kit yet? Yes, the
Spindrift Aurora kit has been re-released by Polar Lights. A very nice kit. I
managed to pick one up in the box, and also one built up and detailed. A
beauty of a kit and true to the original. Polar Lights also has issued the
Spindrift kit in white plastic. These are very limited so keep your eye out
for those. On the back of the box is a little window you can look through to
tell what color kit you are getting white plastic or regular red.
Speaking of Land Of The Giants, the cast minus Stefan Arngrim had dinner in
LA with Kevin Burns to talk about some merchandizing and a possible
project(?) Hey with Time Tunnel done, and the LIS script submitted to NBC
- ya never know.
I hope some LOTG gets done as I hold a fondness for the series and cast in my
heart.
The BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING Heather Young, Deanna Lund, and Don Marshall were
all at the April Chiller. What a joy these people are to be around! I can't
say enough about them. This was Heather Young's first Chiller experience. We
all had a blast at the April Chiller. So nice seeing them all, especially
Heather (Hi Heather!). The LOTG cast had a Q+A session that was standing room
only , hosted by Chiller's favorite son Mark Goddard.
Now the October Chiller is going to be even better. In addition to Heather,
Don Marshall, Deanna, I also got in contact with Kevin Hagen (Inspector Kobick)
and Stefan Arngrim. They both have said they will be attending the October
show, so it will be alot of fun! I also spoke to Gary Conway and am waiting to
hear back from him.
